Stainless Steel 330
ASTM B 536, B 511, B 512, B 535
B 536, B 546, B 710, B 739
UNS N08330
Stainless 330 is an austenitic alloy with good high-temperature strength and corrosion resistance. It has a solid solution composition and is not hardenable by heat treatment. It has good strength, carburization and oxidation resistance to about 2200ºF. The alloy’s strength and oxidation resistance at high temperatures make it a useful material for industrial heating furnaces. 1.
Mega Mex supplies Type 330 in the form of plates, sheets, strips, bar, wire, pipe, tubing, pipe fittings and flanges, welding wire, welding electrode, expanded metal, nuts, bolts, screws, threaded bar, hex bar, square bar, washers, I-beams, and channels.
Typical applications are:
- Furnace containers-carburizing, carbonitiiding, annealing, malleablizing
- Muffles, retorts
- Quenching fixtures
- Heat exchangers
- Radiant tubes
- Gas turbine parts
- Salt pots

Fabrication with Stainless 330
Stainless 330 is readily fabricated by standard commercial procedures. In comparison to carbon steel, stainless steels are tougher and tend to work harden rapidly
Stainless 330 can be welded using conventional welding processes.
